RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
ASHBURTON.— To-Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) Drunk and Disorderly. —Two first offenders were discharged with a caution. Habitual Drunkard. —J. Brenan on a charge of this character was sent to prison for one month. Vagrancy. —J. Murphy, an old offender, well known in Christchurch and Timaru, was convicted of this offence, and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labor.
