A VESSEL ASHORE.

• ♦ [by telegraph.] Auckland, To-day. The barque Fern, which arrived from London last evening, reports a vessel, either a brig or a brigantine, ashore at the Little Barrier. Her sails were loose and the fore-topmast gone, and the vessel was apparently abandoned. It is supposed to be the schooner Policeman, Captain Champion, from Norfolk Island and Noumea, via Russel.
