While three men were engaged to-day on the premises of Hatch, a chemist, working a hoist for lifting goods, the cage, while suspended, suddenly descended, coming to the ground with such violence as to detach the chain, which fell on two of the men, Hunt and Sugent. They were removed to the hospital, when it was found Hunt’s leg was badly fractured. The other man was much bruised and shaken.
