THE TOTALISATOR CASE.
At the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Christchurch, this morning, Messrs Hobbs and Goodwin were charged on an information laid by Messrs Snider and Drake, bookmakers, with having unlawfully played on the Christchurch racecourse with an instrument of game, known as a totalisator, at a game of chance. After hearing evidence and legal arguments, the Bench took time to consider their decision.
