[Per s.s. Southern Cross, at Auckland.] [by telegraph.] Auckland, To-day. The charge of kidnapping natives of Pentecost Island, brought against Captain Gibbs, of the schooner Winifred, was not concluded ; but the Government agent and officers of the ship have given evidence that the natives were obtained legitimately. A large sugar mill is being erected, at a cost of L 30,000, at Suava Point. The orders given to the Customs authorities not to clear any vessel in which G. W. Hunt’was a passenger have been revoked. The Wolverine and flying squadron go to Wellington, not to Auckland.
