The sea made a clean breach over her, and swept the deck of everything movable and stove in the boats The Wild Wave drifted over the spit, carrying away her rudder. After getting clear a jury rudder was rigged. The Tararua reports that the vessel is manageable, and required no assistance, but wanted water. She is making for the Bay of Islands or Auckland.
