Ashburton Guardian Office, Monday A r ternooD. Mr. Alfred. Harrison reports of hip Saturday’s sale as follows :—The weather - ibeingso very-wet, but few farmers came d in,-consequently the yards were a trifle Iras busy than usual; however, two hacks ; .were sold at low prices. One sow brought 24s 6d ; 2 do. 27s 6d each. Two barrows . fetched 27s 6d. A few pairs of fowls were sold at 2s Bd. Produce sold as ■ follows :—Apples, 5s ; potatoes, L 3 to L 4 :10s per ton ; chick wheat, Is 6d to 2s per bushel; cheese, 3ld to 5d per lb ; oats, Is 3d to Is 6d per bushel; bacon, 9d per lb ; ; onions, 4d to per lb ; tea, 24s per 121bs ; bottled stout, 9s per doz. A large quantity of harness and sundries were of.'at fair prices; a’so, a quantity of goods given to the Exhibition The attendance was good in , the rooms and selling was brisk throughout.
