(Per Press Association.) Earthquake. Auckland, To-day. A sharp earthquake shock was felt at Tauranga on Monday, at ten minutes to nine. Gold. Sixteen hundred ounces of gold were received by the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland from Colomandel, chiefly from the new goldfield at the Tiki. The Native Meeting. Wellington, To-day. The large native meeting commenced at Mastcrton to-day. About 800 natives were present. The meeting is called ostensibly for feast and talk. It is not of much interest or importance. Breach of the Licensing Act. At the Magistrate’s Court this morning, William Ebdon, proprietor of the Thorndon Club, was charged with a breach of the Licensing Act. Two previous convictions were recorded against him, and lie was fined L4O and costs, or, in default, three months’ imprisonment. Shipping. Dunedin, To-day. The ship Marlborough passed the heads this morning.
