SPORTING.

TRAINING NOTES FROM FORBURY. [By Telegraph.] Dunedin, To-day. This morning, being the off day, nothing special was done. All business was transacted on the tan. Goodman appeared with his string, consisting of Le Loup, Sylvanus, Titania, and Playboy. Titania went by herself twice round. The mare appears to be as good as ever she was. Sylvanus and Playboy went together two miles in fine form, and both went well. Swede went round at a slow pace three times with rugs on. Cotton sent Jasper round the tan by himself. Then he sent Sunbeam, Maude, and Gingle twice round. They went fairly strong. Lady Emma went once round, and was then joined by Ledgerdemain. The filly has greatly improved since her arrival. Dodson’s three—the Castanet filly, Miss King colt, and the Envy filly, went twice round, the Castanet youngster leading her stable companion. Native Cat, with Goodman up, trotted three times round, with sweaters on. Sailor Boy w’cnt round twice, and took the hurdles twice. Scratchings. Longlands, for the Cup.
