MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Christchurch, for the following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under: Monday, December 13. For United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, per s.s. Durham (for specially addressed correspondence only) :—Ordiuary letters, at 11 a. m. ; books and newspapers, at 11 a. m. ; money orders, at 10 a. m. ; registered letters, at 10 a.m. ; late fee letters, at 11.20 a.m.; guard’s van, 12 noon train. Tuesday, December 14. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Te Anau. Wednesday, December 15. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), Continent of Europe, Point de Gallo, India, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c.: —Ordinary letters at 7 a.m. ; books and newspapers at 6 a.m. ; registered letters at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14th; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post Office van attached to the express - train on Wednesday, 15tli December.

The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at the Chief Post. Office, Christchurch, on Saturday, Ist January, 1881.
