At the Magistrate’s Court this morning, Adam Leitch and a man named Allison, alias Thompson, were charged with burglariously entering the warehouse of Murray, Roberts, ami Co., ami stealing therefrom a quantity of rum. They were remanded for seven days. ! oil Springs. Gisborne, To-day. Mr. Clark, of the Poverty Bay Petroleum Company, has proceeded to Waipu, East Cape, in company with Major Ropata and native agents, with a view to negotiate for the oil springs blocks in that district. The Magistrate this morning referred to the loss the bench had sustained through the death of Mr. Richmond, M.H.R. , who died the previous day of heart disease at Blenheim.
