A district horse shallmean a horse which has been commonly resident in, and owned by a resident in the County previous to Sept. 1, 1880, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting; provided always that any district horse shall not be disqualified from having run in his hona fide owner’s name in races outside the County during the above-mentioned term. Canterbury Jockey Club rules strictly adhered to unless otherwise specified. No protest will be entertained unless L2 2s be deposited, which will be forfeited should the protest, in the opinion of the Stewards, prove frivolous. All entries and nominations to be in the hands of the Secretary, addressed to Quill’s Commercial Hotel, not later than nine p.m. on Tuesday, November 2nd. Weights will be published on Saturday, November 13th. Acceptances and Sweeps to be paid to the Secretary not later than nine p.m. on the night of Monday, November 15th.
