A Windfall. —Sir Stafford Northcote has decidedly had a stroke of luck in the successive deaths of several rich men within a few months, events which will cause a windfall to the Exchequer of some L 500,000. St. Stephen’s. —lt is officially announced in the “ New Zealand Church News ” that the resignation by the Rev. W. E. Paige of the incumbency of this parish, will take effect on the 31st of this month. It is uncertain to what cure Mr. Paige will be appointed. For continuation of reading matter see fourth /age.
