Grafton Road 25th. July 1871. Dear Mr. McLean, Some time since my Government offered to print my collection of words of Maori as an Appendix to Williams Dictionary, but I did not wish to part with them then, as I can not out of my present salary send but one of my 7 children to School I now make the offer of those words to the Government. I have I think 3000 which are not in Williams Dictionary. I think £150 would be little enough for them. Yours as ever John White.
