New Plymouth Sir Having paid a visit to New Plymouth by the express wish of Mr Morgan I was in hopes that I should meet you here but I am dissapointed still to find you absent I enclose Mr Morgans letter although it may be of no importance has you are absent from this Town Mr M. was in hopes that you had the parties engaged to go back with me he likewise would be very happy to see you at Otawhao -Taonui wished you particular to go back with me had you been in Town we received your Letters last December he has likewise received on[e] from the Governor on the same subject in which it states that it all rests with yourself Taonui his very anxious to see you about it I am happy to state that we are all quiet and all healthy at present wishing you health and prosperity I Remain Your Obedient Lewis Hetet D McLean Esq [Postmarked: New Plymouth Fe 26 1851 and Wellington Mr 3 1851.
