Taranaki 22nd. July 1850. Dear Sir, There is little to communicate this fortnight. The departure of the English ship has thrown us into the usual state of quiet, and many of the new arrivals are at a loss to know what to be about. The town Pah natives, so eager to take the case of assault into Court, when the time arrived, would not appear, and Hoera was again received into favour. In Duncan v. Minarapa, would it not, under present circumstances, have been better to refuse the Summons? and is it likely he will attend on Thursday week? We shall see.
