Napier September 3rd. 1872. The Honourable Donald McLean. Dear Sir, I send the last ducks of the present season; and I hope that I may have the pleasure of sending your honour some of the first of the next season. I am most anxious about the present position of the Ministry. But there is something telling me that you will be all right, which I hope may prove true. I was up at the Station a few days ago. All seemed well and happy. We are all well here, thanks to the God of all blessings. Wishing your honour every success, and a victory over the Opposition. Yours ever (Signed) Thos. Scully
