To His Honor, The Superintendent of Hawke's Bay. Sir, In compliance with your request to be furnished in writing, with the communication made by me to your Honor on 2nd. March 1869, I have the honor to forward you the following statement -- A small party of Mounted Constabulary under Coporal Sullivan having been stationed in the Taupo District, in order to gain and report any Information of any contemplated movements of the Hau Haus, Sullivan came to Napier to make his report; and upon my seeing him coming out of the Militia Office, I requested him to make your Honor acquainted with any information he might
