Auckland Dec. 30/67 My dear Maclean, I have received your official letter of the 18th inst. respecting Loder's claims. I have not been able to settle the matter. The only very difficult matters now are money matters. I will not let it slip out of mind but the Governor has been upsetting all my little schemes and Kawau has somewhat demoralised me. Some grave errors in Loders plans have made it less easy to dispose of the business. I hope you are able to do something at Turanga. A Court is fixed for the end of Feb. or beginning of March In haste, Yours truly, J.C. RICHMOND His Honor D. Maclean Esq.
