Private. 19 June 1873 Government House, New Zealand. My dear Mr. McLean, I see by the morning paper that there are some telegrams from the disturbed district. If you have anything more I should like to see it. It would be very agreeable to me if you would as a rule send me the telegrams - or copies of them - which you receive during the present crisis - as I suppose I must call it. I need hardly say that I shall make nothing known unless I know that it is not a secret. Yours sincerely, James Fergusson
