Dear Maclean, I hope to visit Napier by the Ashley on the 25th and expect the Sturt (or probably the St. Kilda may be available) to meet me there. I want to visit Wairoa and Poverty Bay Waiapu, Opotiki and Tauranga - and should be very glad if you were able to visit the two former places with me. Fairchild is at present with the Exlipse to pilot her into Kawhia but he is to return by the Manakau to rejoin the Sturt at Auckland and has been told I shall be ready for him at Napier on the 27th.
