. Wellington 21st. July 1851. A Native of the Southern States of America, named James Daniel, states that he has been a resident in New Zealand for the last 13 years; that he is married to a native woman named Louisa, of Te Matahoio tribe, at Ngamotu; that she claims land there, and that he requests to get a piece of Reserve to settle his wife upon at Taranaki. He says that he has been 4 years married, and that he would be satisfied with an acre or small piece of land on a reserve at Wellington.
