Wallingford June 6th./62. My dear McLean, The trooper arrived here late this evening and I recd. by him your letter telling me Dr. Knight and Woodward would meet me this afternoon at Waipukurau. I am on the eve of starting for Napier and have written Knight telling him that I can't put off my journey, but will meet him at Napier any time after Saturday. As the next steamer leaves on the 13th. this will give ample time to go into what is requisite before Saturday and the 13th. To tell you the truth I shld. not care to go into a question so thoroughly unprepared as I am, and so far from any possibility of reference as Waipukurau wd. be, one word about Weston's election. Pray see that the Russells and Chambers are got to go to the poll. It will be a hear thing and it will never do to let them get too strong. We shall have no end of trouble if you do. I shall be in Town some time next Saturday weather permitting so I will add no more to this. Yours always, J.D. Ormond.
