Treasury Auckland February 19th 1858 Sir, In reply to your letter, No. 7, of the 18th. ultimo, in which you offer to fence the Crown land at Turanga, provided you might have the use of it, and, in certain contingencies, the value of the fence, I am directed by the Colonial Treasurer to inform you that the Government is anxious of entering into no new arrangement involving expenditure on the eve of the Session of the General Assembly; but that your offer shall receive consideration on the framing of the Estimates.
