Taranaki, July 12 1854 My dear McLean, His Honor is off in such a hurry that I have no time to write my usual private letter this time. However it is of less consequence now as he will give you all the news. The enclosed letters from Kingdom were late for the post, will you have them delivered for him? He asked me to say for him that he would write you by the next post. I have been hard at work in the bush at the Hua all day, and it is very late now and I have only just finished my letters, so pray excuse this hurried scrawl. Faithfully Yours, G. S. Cooper. P.S. The reference to the tracing --- there are 2 or 3 little bits to be taken out of the pakeha parts of the block, as the surveys of them are not complete. They will make no difference as they will hardly amount to 10 or 12 acres altogether. At least, I think not, although I have not seen some of them yet myself.
