The deputy chief electoral officer a - rived this morning to decide on t' ; e validity or otherwise of twenty to thiity votes macle by declaration in connection with the Waitomo seat. It is understood that a number were rejected a.s invalid.
The final figures were, officially giv sn this afternoon as follows :—J. C. Roll?*, ton (G) 3447, W. T. Jennings (0) 3441majority for Rolleston, 6.
