Yesterday the Bay of Islands cricket team played a match in the Domain with Auckland Cricket Club, which resulted in a win for the visitors by seven runs on the first innings. The Whaugarei team met Gordon at the Domain yesterday, and after a well-contested match the former experienced a defeat by 36. For the visitors, J. Woollcr and A. McKenzie were the most successful run-getters, and in the same department in the home team J, A. Kallender, C. Kissling, C. Hay, Dr. Egan, and Dr. Pabst contributed the majority. NAVAL SPORTS. About four or five hundred people were present at the Naval Depot, North Shore, yesterday, to see the sports got up by the officers and men of the H.M.s. Royalist, and an enjoyable day was spent. At the conclusion of the events the trophies were presented by Mrs. Isaacs. ARATAPU football CLUB. The annual meeting of the Aratapa Football Club was held in the Rink on Saturday evening, Mr. W. J. Bassett, vice-president in the chair. There was a large attendance, and thirty-eight names were handed in for membership. The balance-sheet was presented by the treasurer, Mr. T. Nield, and approved. It showed an income for the year of £44 13s (id, and an expenditure of £44 8s 3d, leaving cash in hand 5s 3d. But as the club has a liability of £4 12s 6d there is really a nett deficit of £4 7s 3d. The following officers were elected:—Secretary, Mr. T. Nield ; treasurer, Mr. W. J. Bassett; patron, Mr. J. Harrison; vice-presidents, Messrs. May, O'Connor, Vousden, T. Webb, T. Nield, W. R. Smith, G. Meredith, J. Pearce, H. B. Wilson, S. Edmonds, and Mrs. Corkill; managing committee, Messrs. VV. Phelau, J. Elliott, E. Bassett, W. Bonella, F. Barker, Butland, and H. Phelan; selection committee, Messrs. W. Phelan, T. Nield, and J. Elliott, until the captain is clected; delegates to Union, Messrs. W. Phelan, T. Neild, and J. F. Smith. The election of junior officers was allowed to stand over till after the selection of the first fifteen. The delegates were instructed to support the district scheme as initiated last season. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. T. Webb for the use of his paddocks. It was agreed to open the season on April 24th, with a costume match at Aratapu,—[Own Correspondent.] AUCKLAND BOWLING ASSOCIATION. EASTER TOURNAMENT. Play was resumed yesterday on the Grafton Road Green at half-past nine a.m. The weather was bright and warm, and the green was in excellent condition, rendering the games most enjoyable. There was a large attendance of bowlers, and the various events were played with spirit. In the rinks matches the final encounter remains to be played off as soon as the competitors can arrange a convenient day for themselves. One or two rounds of the pairs matches have likewise to be played on an early date. Yesterday in the afternoon other matches were organised for bowlers of any of the clubs who were not engaged in any of the Association contests, and these private encounters proved most interesting.
