(PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, November 19. The funeral of the Hon. J. Johnston, M.L.C., took place this morning. It was largely attended by members of both Houses. Archbishop Bedwood and a representative of the Governor were present. The funeral service was conducted by Father McNamara, the Vicar-General. WANGANTJI, November 19. Tbe sale of the Westmere estate to-day brought a large number of investors together. Including tbe sections sold privately after the auction, there were over 676 acres disposed of for £'8307, an average of about £12 6s per acre. AUCKLAND, November 19. The 'sudden death of Colonel Lyon oreated some sensation, and general regret was expressed. Tbe event is attributed to heart disease, as Colonel Lyon was not ander medical advice. A man named John Sutcliffe fell into tbe harbor from the railway wharf this evening, and was drowned. Deceased, who was single, was a fisherman.
