The death took place on Sunday evening, at her residence, Jermyn-streetf, of Mrs. Endean, wife of Mr. John Endean, of this city. The deceased lady was a daughter of the late Mr. Henry Phillips, having avrived at Dunedin from Gloucester when 9 years of age, in the year 1864. Some years later she came with her father to the Thames goldflelds, where she was married. For the past 32 years she had lived in Auckland. The late Mrs. Endean \vas a lady of kindly and charitable dispos : tion, her numerous unostentatious acts of charity, having earned her the gratitude of many, and the esteem, of all who knew her. Her sux-r viving children include My- J- A. Endean, jun., Mrs. F. E. N. Gaudin, Miss Grace Endean, Mr. W. P- Endean (barrister and solicitor), and Mr. A. G. Endean, all of this city, and Mr. B. G. Endean, who is completing his medical course at' Guy'a Hospital, London. The funeral, which was largely attended; took plane at Pure* w* this morning.
