ADDINGTON STOCK SALE CHKISrCHURCH, Wednesday. At the Addington live 6tock market today the entry of stock was smaller than of late, owing to the wet weather, and the attendance was limited to those who had actual business to transact. There was a slight improvement in beef, and fat lambs were a little nasier. Store sheep, especially wethers and foward lambs, sold well. Fat ewes brought about late rates, wethers if anything being firmer. Fat pigs showed a decline in values, and there was no change in stores. There was a poor demand for store cattle, and a fair sale for dairy cows. Store Sheep.—There were about 300 store sheep yarded, the bulk being lambs.

There was good competition for forward lambs and wethers, and a fair inquiry for young ewes, a good clearance being effected. The principal sales were: Thirty-four 2toothlewes, 18s; 207 at 17s; 21 4-tooth, 18s Gd; 145 aged, 7s 6d; 77 2-toofh wethers, 15s 91; 389 4-tooths, 14s 6dj 158 lambs, 12s lid; 497 at 12s Id to 12a lOd; 196, at 12s 3d; 67 at 12s sd; 165 at 12s 2d; 542, at 12s; 78, at 9s 7d; smaller lots, 11 a7d to 12s 7d ; 48 shcrn, 9s lid; culls, 7e 2d.

Fat Lambs.— The number of fat lambs penned was 2341, and prime freezing sorts sold at about the same as last week, white unfinished lots were easier. There wen 1145 taKen for fre zin >. at 12s 71 to 15.s 4d; 510 bought by butchers, at 12s 9d to 15s 7d ; and 686 were pasted in. Fat Sheep.—The entry "f fat was mad' up principilly of ewes, which, as usual, sold very well, until the butchers' had filled their requirements, and prices then gave way. Freezing wethers sold rather above late rates, but merino wethers were almost U'-.salable, and prime wethermade 18s 6d to 18s ; piimo heavy ewes, 16s 6d to 18s; medium, 13s 6d to 16s; aged, 10s to 133; medium merino wethers 9s to 12s lid.

Fat Cattle. —The entry of fat cattle totalled 174, and the sale opmed with slack bidding, the first two races passed, but were afterwards sold at an advance on the prices first bid, and the market closed at a slight improvement upon last week's rates. Six steers from Thos. Chapman (Mount Palm) made £\o to jBIO 15s, and 10 heifers .£6 15s to £8 Rutherford (Waitohi Peaks), £7 7s 61 to £B. Other Bt*er3 brought £n 15s to .£lO ss; heifers, £5 to £7 17s 6d ; and cows, £4 10s to-E'i 17s 6d, equal to 20s to 23s 61 for prime, and 16s to 19s for cow and inferior beef, per 1001b. A fair yarding of veal calves sold at 7s 6d to 34s 6d. Store and Dairy Cattle.—There was a small mixed entry of store cattle, and a dull sale, yearlings realising 13s 6d; 15 to 18 months, 30s to 35s ; 2 year steers, £3 15s, 3-year steers, £4 10s to £1 15s; 3-year heifers, JE3 15s; dry cows, 35s to £l. There was a small but fairly good entry of dairy cows, and best sorts sold at X 6 to X 8; and others, £3 10s to £b 10s. Pigs. There was a Urge entry of baconers and porkers, and prices for both classes were easier. A small entry of stores sold at about late rates. Medium baconers maee 30s to 40a (equal to 3}d per lb), heaviei weights, 42s to 46s (equal to 2sd to 3d per lb), porkers, 18s to 27s (equal to 3j 1 to 41 per lb); large stores, 18s 6d to 225; weaneis and small stores, 6s to 12a. FR33EN MEAT. NAPIER, Last Night. The C.C. and D. Company cable: " There is no improvement in the frozen meat market. Prices are unchanged."
