Thr usual monthly mooting of tho Woihj School Committoo was held in tho echoo building last night, Present : Jlossrs J, McCarthny (chairman), J. Newib, Goodridgo, H. Hartley, J. Nicholson, P. G Morgan, J. Newdick and J. Hender.-jon (secroiary)
A letter from : W. H, Phillips, giving notice of his resignation as a member of tbo committee, and containing his best wishes to tho school connnittco and staff, and for die goucral welfare o( the school, was road.
Tho resignation was received with regret, and tbe secretary was instructed to writo to Mr. Phillips giving oppression of the same,
The following tenders for tho erection of the now High School class room, rcceiwd by tbo Auckland Board of Education, cunio to hand on Thursday:—Messrs. A. H, Boctham (Cambridge), i' 397; Hutchinson and Ludwig (Wailii), i'4ls; Fislt and Brown (Waihi) 1418 10s; W, M. Hay (Waihi), 1449; Thomas E.Paltnor (Waihi), £470, In its communication tho Bomd intimated that it had authorised the acceptance of Mr, Boeilnni's tender,
In view of th« present aaHsfacov} state of the school linanco llio chairman said ho would inovo thai tho wire fence in front of tho school be replaced by a picket fonce, and that application for tbo necessary assistance bo made to the Board of Education, The motion was seconded by Mr Nowdicl; and carried.
It was resolved that a deputation consisting of tho committee wait upon tho Premier on tho occasion of his visit to Waihi with reference to tho Waihi East school. '
Acomints amounting to XI 18s (id wore passed for payment.
