Tavervkr, Agent-General for New South Wales, has cabled to Mr. Bent that ho is glad of the opportunity of refuting Mr. Sinclair's charges, and says he only suggested that the evidonco be by commission to savo expense. He sails for Melbourne in 10 days. Ho is confident that his explanation will bo accepted, and asks tli3 public to suspend judgment.
