As the Borough Council Chambers, which also include the Public Library, are near. i%< complotion, it will bo to rcadeis to loam some details of iho building, Yeßtcrday our representative whs shown over tho offices by Mr. D. W. MoAnhur, tho borough onginoo.l, who supplioil particulars as to tho dimensions and uses of the different compartmonts. On on .Bring tho building, which fronts llaszard stot with an imposing ami attractive design, <vo found ourselves in a vestibule (Oft by 9ft) from which access is given to tho Council meeting room (31ft bv 18ft) on tho left, whilo immediately on tho right is tho onquiry office. Continuing on from the vestbuio is a spacious hall (8 feet wido by 48 feet long), giving acooss to tho other depart, moms in tho following order: —First, Town Clerk's room; second. Mayor's room; third. Engineer's room; fourth, Assistant-Engineer's room; fifth, liw spector's room. With tho oxecption of the lattor, theso rooms are 17ft by 12ft, and oach has a firo place, Flie Inspector's room is 10ft by 12ft. To tho right, after passing tho inspootor's room, thore is a lavatory 10ft by Oft, Leaving the official part of tho building, and ontoring from tho south sido, wecamo to tho door leading to tho apartments (or tho uso of tho Public Library, Tho first room ontored from tho outside is tho library (18ft by lift), oil' which ou tho ono hand is tho roading rjtiin (18ft by 18ft), and on tho other a chess or card room (lOftbyluHt); abo a ladies'room (10ft bylSift). Both tho library and reading rooms aro furnished with liro-placcs, Tho height of the ceilings throughout (he whole building is 18 feet, We omitted to stato that opening off tho Town Cork's office is a very massive and firo~ prcof strong-room built of concrete 18 inches in thickness and with archod roof It has an interior spaco of 7 feet loug by 5 feet wide, and is 8 feet high,
