Final Results. Opposition Returned by Large Majority I'rcM Amnciatiun.—Copjrig, i. BTDwsr. Mw daj. Mr Havsks (an Oppositionist) was defeated by ten votes; but it is likely a petition v will bo lodged on the ground of laritios at tho polling bioth, The final returns show tho strength of tho parties as follows : Opposition 46 Labour 25 Ministerialist 15 Independent 4 The Opposition expect to get tho support of tivo, if not three, of the Independents, and will possibly have tho support of ono or two Ministerialists opposed to cauous rule, Sydnhy, August 8 Mr Waddoll, in returning thanks to bis constituents, says he cannot say anything about the situation till ho returns to Sydney, but hopes that tho result of the olection will bo that tho country will reap the benefit of good legislation for the next ihreo years. _ Ik AleGoweu statos that Labour gains nine seats, and that ho would welcome a coalition with any who liked to join his party.
