INVERCAEGILL, April s.'' Duncan Chisholm, believed to have been a carpenter from Wilton district, who .was arrested for drunkenness, died in the police cells last 'night. He had tea with the other inmates but was found unconscious at 8.30 and died Boon after.

AUCKLAND, April 5. Daniel Green, one of a party of small boys bathing among logs floating in the harbour near the timber mills, wasdrowned to-day. He dived and the tide carried him beneath the timber. When he was extricated a few minutes later he was dead.
