HIDE CURING.
The same correspondent (H.J.E.), asks for " a cure for preserving raw hide, to keep it iv i(J natuial state, yet mako it pliable and tit, for use for pack saddles, etc., and also for keeping the hair in its natural state " The beat pUn is to stretch the hide on a frame with the hair downwards when moist, and then, having sprinkled alum on i f , prooeed to rub it well into the hido with a brush every moniog for about four weeks, spreading at tho same time fresh alum on it, and keeping it moist. By this means the hide will become soft and pliable, the hair remaining as perfect as when tho hide came off the animal,
