«. . TO THE BDITOE. Sin, — I would not adrocato a useless expenditure of public mouoy in the matter of paint. I refer to tho dismal appearance of the Railway Bridge at Aramoho. Formerly the cylinders and hand rail wore painted white, but now tho whole structure is of one colour, and ia anything but aa agreeable colour. I think it is a great shame that such ft fine bridge as this should bo so disfigured in the painting. Ido hope it is not tho intention of the powers to leave it as it is, if so they may be engineers, but they are no artists. — I am, <Lc., Ahti-Eysobe. Wanganui, October 24th, 1890.
