Several retidenta in Wanganui, who are interesting themselves in forming a small settlement under the recently issued regulations, have addressed the Government on the subject, and have received in reply the plans of a block of land about twenty miles from Feilding. This was deemed scarcely satisfactory, the d'stance of the block from town being considered too great, and the Government having been informed to this effect, have sent the plans of a block of land situated between Mason's property aud the Borough Council's endowment block in the Murimotu. As the plans of the land have only been received in Wanganui during the last few days, nothing has yet been definitely let tied, but doubtless a party will be deputed to personally visit the block to report on its suitability for settlement.
