The Industrial Association appointed s» deputation to wait on the Labor Bills Committee of the Legislative Council and endeavor to get some amendments made in the measures coming on this session) especially in the Factories Act Amend ment Bill. Particular exception is taken to the interference with boy labor on machinery. The Association urges that where men and boys are employed on the aame machinery careßhould be taken that the men's time is not curtailed by preventing boys working the ordinary hours observed by 'the men. If their labor is notco-terminous it is considered there w \\ be a possibility of machines and men employed on them being kept idle apart of the time.
