In the football match the French had the best of the first half, and scored five to nil. New Zealand played a willing game in the second spell, and outpointed the opposition, "whose passing was better than the New Zealanders. Ford scored one and Stohr two tries. Ryan failed to convert one, but Stohr converted the others. Stohr also goaled off a mark.
