A TERRIBLE SITUATION.
(United Press Association. —Copyright.) ST. PETERSBURG. JuJy 14. The greatest continuous heat for half a century is being experienced. Monster, forest fires are raging in all directions. The effect of the da-ought on the crops is causing anxiety. The dynamite factory at ScMusselbui-g, Lake Ladoga, was fa:-" 24 hours threatened with destruction by great £>eat fires. The troops endeavoured to stifle the flames with liquid mud. The wind fortunately changed to-day, and the factory was thus caved.
