MONTHLY MEETING. In •attendance at the usual monthly meeting vof Ahe Wanganixi Hospital Board yesterdiay were Messrs. W. G. Bassett (chairman), A. G. Bignoll, C. J. Bennett, A. J. Joblin. A. McGregor, J. Smith, C. G. Russell, R. K. Simpson. E. E. Fletcher Mesdames Comyns and Siddells. Wangamii Hospital: Mr Hufeon. medical superintendent of the Wangamii Hospital, reported thiat during Juno 154 patients wc.r© treated in the hospital. Tjhio ladmtisf/oms numbers'/ 77, discharges 68. and deaths four. At the ond of the month S2 patients remained m the hospital; 31 operations were performed. Tailmpe Hospital: Miss South all. matron of the Ta.ihape Hospital, reported that during the month of June tlvlr* were 27 patients treated, 21 were admitted. 13 were discharged, two died, and 12 remaiined in the institution on the 30th. Nursing League: The following nominations were accented for the Nursing League's Committee: Me-dames :- K«nzio (president), A. E. Kitchen. W. J. TrencLwoll. Sampsoji 0 Braik, Reeve, Spurd'le, H. F. Clirietie. ]Ja>sett. Keesing, Walker, Sidddlls, Crawfoixl,' Cummins, Misses Alexander, Taylor and Newoombe. Bank Book : The bank book showed a taetoi,t balance of £2209.^ Hospital Grounds: Mr Bennett's motion "That the leasing of the sub-divi-sion of tne Wangamii Hospital grounds b e not p-roceeded ivith," was withdrawn. Hon. Surgeon: An application from B-r J. L. Gregg to be appointed honorary consulting surgeon* "to the Wanganui hospital -was deferred tiniiil the next meeting.
Venereal Diseases: A circular letter wa-s received from 'Dr. Yalmtine with reference to the precautions that could bo taken in checking venereal diseases. Miss E. Livingstone's name was i^laced on the selection list for probationers.
of Grounds : An application from W. G. Caldnell for the lease of a portion of the Tailxa.pe grounds was referred to tho executive.
Executive's Report: The report of the executive was submitted: —(1) Recommending that the chairman and Mr. Jiignell be authorised to instruct the Kecreitai-y to bring the sections of the Wangan-ui hospital under tho Land Transfer Act. (2) That Mr John Annabell's amended offer of a reduction of £23 10s. ro surveying, etc., subdivision of section at Wanganiii hospitial grounds, be accepted. (3) That the matter of tho appointment of a .second health inspector bo held over for six months.
Finance Committee's Report: A discussion ensued on the third issue, but the report was finally adopted. Finance Committee: The Finance Committee recommended that th° chairman, Messrs Battle, Bigncll and Fletcher bo a committee to inquire into tho matter of retiring looses and to report to the Board1.
