The survey of the steamer Arapawa Vras complet-ed to-day by Captain Hamraond. representing tne Northern Steamfehip Co., and it is understood that everything was satisfactory, and the purchase of the vessel by the Northern Co. completed. Rumours are current that the Anchor Company's little steamer tvaitoa may be purchased by Johnston and Co. for the Sounds trade.
Mr. J. L. Stevenson, agent C. and P. Line. Ltd.. advises that their s.s. Makariui from London has discharged at W^Ung'ton, and Wanganui t'orjdgninents are now coming to hand. _ Consignees are requested to present bills of lading, pay charges, and obtain delivery -orders.
