MEETING; OF THE MANAGEMENT

COMMITTEE

The above meeting was held last evening, there being present—^Messrs. Sprigs gens (chair), Simpson, Tilley, Gray, Brown, Dustin, Bassett, Pownall, Craig, Markham, T. Bell, and the hon. secretary (Mr. R. D.unkley). The minutes of the previous meeting wea'e read and confirmed.

The hon. secretary of the Turakina Club applied for permission to jplay as a junior team under tfiis Union, and this .was granted. :

The hon^ secretary of the Waitotara F.C. applied for affiliation as a Saturday Junior Club. Enclosed was a list of officj&rs and members, together with regist^baion fee.—Granted. Mr. A. W.'Mountfort' forwarded a communication, togethei' with printed records of football for niariy,years past. —^Letter received arid records received with thanks to the donor. -

It was resolved that the following words be added to bye-law 3, as an amendment:—" And provided that the Wanganui Collegiate School Club be allowed to play as a. junior club." The Melrose Club (Thursday players) applied for the use of the Recreation Ground: for April 3Oth.-^Application granted. ; , .- -

Mr. Tilley proposed ;that in all practice games sides be oojifiiied to sevens teen aside, and that those clubs playing over seventeen be fined over and above that number 5s per man.-r-CaiTied. Mr. Pownall made reference to a conversation he had recently with representatives of the Wellington R.U. concerning the possibilities of a match on June 3rd, and after discussion it was -resolved.'..jjhat the secretary com-municate-with Wellington on the lines suggested.

Mr. Gray brought forward the idea of constituting a fourth, grade competition in connection with the Union cup matches for the season.—This was discussed at some length, and, the motion being seconded by Mr. Tilley, was carried. Mr. Spriggens offered a silver cup for competition in this grade, and it was accepted with thanks—the' presentation to be known as " The President's Cup Fourth Grade Competition." On the motion of'the Chairman it was decided to thank Mr. Empson for his courtesy in allowing the College grounds to be played on in past seasons, and asking for a continuance of the courtesy during the ensuing season. After other matters of minor importance had been discussed the meeting adjourned. -
