Gentlemen, Your flatteringly signed requisition having just been presented to me, calling upon.* me in terms dictated, .1 apprehend, rather bymy long-cherished and friendly connexion with Wanganui, than any claims which I can ad--vance of a parliamentary character, to allow myself to be put in nomination as*your Representative in the General Assembly at the approaching Election—l do myself the honourto state, that as I believe such an arrangement to be in accordance with the general feeling of the district, I waive all private con-. siderations on the subject, and shall have pleasure in meeting the Electors of Wanganui, at such time as may meet their convenience,. for the purpose of communicating my views, and discussing the leading subjects connected with your representation.
