NELSON.
Flax. —lt is much pleasure- and satisfaction we announce steam power is brought to act upon Mr. M’Giashan’s process to clean and prepare the native flax for exportation. The steam engine is six-horse power, and appears well adapted to the experiment. We sincerly hope, and entertain no doubt it will prove to the inhabitants of Nelson aud New Zealand generally the immense importance of New Zealand flax as a lucrative article for exportation ; and that with aid of more powerful machinery it will be second to no investment, for a ready, sure, and very remunerative return. To those who are in any way interested to see the New Zealand flax take its place in the rank of valuable native exportations, we would persuade them to pay a visit to Mr. McGlashan.
