Mr J. W. Eraser, of QuecnstowiT, ha s been appointed town clerk at Port Chalmers. Mr G. R. .Sykes, M.P.. will proceed to Wellington next week to introduce two Wairarapa deputations, to Ministers. Mrs Rogers, the well known Wellington vocalist, will be one of the contributor's at the Caledonian Society's concert at Carterton next month. I Sargeant-Major Thomas McCristell, of the permanent staff of the Territorials,* hag been promoted to the rank of lieutenant. His numerous Masterton friends will he pleased to hear of his promotion. A quiet but pretty wedding took place at St. Jarnes r Presbyterian Church, Wellington, February 18th, when Mr Harold Dissington Watson was married to Miss Daisy Boyne, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Reid, of South Carterton. The Pelorus Guardian reports the death of Mr Peters, aged 75 years. He was one of the pioneer sawmillers in the Pelorus Sounds.
