ROXBURGH TOWN COUNCIL.
_A special meeting of the Council was held on the 18th inst. There were present : The Mayor (Mr J. Beighton). and Crs Ormond, Rees, Hughes, and Jas. Beighton. The following tenders were received for filling in holes in Scotland-street : — F. Hiscocks, £8 ; W. Quayle, £7 ; P. Broad £6 15s ; J. Boxhold, £4 J ss. The lowest tender was accepted.
Permission was granted to Mr John Beighton to break the surface of Scotlandstreet for the purpose of laying water pipes across Hawick-street to the Commercial Ilotlil.
It was resolved that tenders be called for the formation of Ferry Road by the 26th inst.
A res jln tion to the effect that the Mayor take the case in hand re Dalton and Corporation, and instruct the solicitor by personal interview, the Council to pay all reasonable expenses in connection therewith, was carried.
Resolved : That a special meeting of the Council be held on the 26th inst. for the purpose of opening tenders for the Ferry Road Works. The meeting then closed.
