CIVIL CASES.
Grundy. v. Adams. — Claim of L 5, for trespass to laud. Mr. M'Coy for plaintiff. The facts of this case were as follows :—: — Messrs. Pressly and Grundy, adjoining land-owners, had gone through the necessary preliminaries under the Fencing Ordinance for erecting a substantial dividing fence between them. — C. W. Adams, who said he was acting under Pressly's instructions, proceeded to put up the fence, but not in accordance with the notices given under the Ordinance, planting gorsein it, to which plaintiff objected. On plaintiff speaking to Pressly about it, the latter said he knew nothing of the matter, and referred him to defendant, with whom Grundy refused to have anything to do ; but took proceedings to put a stop to the matter. The defendant pleaded leave and license, stating that Grundy had verbally assented to what he had done in conversation held between them at Grundy 's house in the presence of Mrs. Grundy. This was positively denied by plaintiff, and an adjournment asked for to corroborate the denial. This was granted; his Worship expressing a hope that the matter would be settled meanwhile. MoyU v. Clark. — Claim of L 5. Mr. Copland for plaintiff, and Mr. Gooday for defendant. After evidence had been led, judgment was given for L 3 19s and costs. Moyle v. Ines. — Claim of L 5.
