LYTTELTON MARINE BAND.
TO THE EDIIOK. Sir, — I wish to inquire if the Lyttelfon Marine Band lias this year given the concerts which it annually gives to the Chxisfcchurch public. I have not heard of this popular band giving any concerts in Cbristohurcih this year, and I hops it doss not mean that it has abandoned them. If it intends to give a performance, may I suggest that it should take place in Hagley Park on a Sunday afternoon., and that a collection should 1)6 made, partly for a charitable purpose and partly to defray the expenses of the band in participating in the coming contest at TVaimate. By the way, dc&sn't the hand turn out ■vrhenever the Lyttelto-n Volunteers visit Ckristohurch. — I am, etc, GEORGE WILSON., Christ church, July 13.
